  1. "Malta Sheffer" by Nelson Eubanks:
While, I wouldn't consider myself a baseball fan, I thought that Eubanks really made the story come to life with his unquestionable enthusiasm and detailed descriptions of all the five senses like smells, sounds, and sights. I was in disbelief when I heard that the boy wasn't chosen due to the risk it presented for the coach's safety bringing in a boy different color and actual talent to the game. That the boy was compelled to train in secret in order to develop his skills and become a baseball player who was part of a team. Furthermore, I like how everything wasn't perfect, that the boy did end up making a mistake, but despite that mistake and his team being infuriated with him, his parents were understanding and knew just how to comfort him.

"A Sunday Kind of Love" by Tom Wolfe:
I didn't like this story as much, I really couldn't get into the story. However, what I did notice, was that there was much more repetition in this story, which I felt gave certain words more emphasis and power when she said them.

Excerpts from Humans of New York:
I liked the excerpts from Humans of New York, I thought that some of them conveyed important messages including racism and discrimination, while also putting a comical spin on pressing issues like feminism.
